Service Canada - Manitoba Region

In Manitoba, 65 front-line staff in 18 Service Canada points of service help more than 250,000 people each year to access the full range of Government of Canada services and benefits they want and need. Service Canada Centres in Manitoba:

Manitobans can now apply for passports at the Brandon Service Canada site. The Thompson and Flin Flon Service Canada sites are scheduled to provide this service by next spring. In 2006, there will be 22 additional Service Canada outreach points of service in rural and northern Manitoba. The first communities to benefit from this outreach service will be Ashern, Gillam, Killarney, Beausejour, Gimli and Russell.

The Service Canada Centre is close to the historic and business section of St Boniface. St. Boniface, Winnipeg, includes a cultural centre, hospital, university, the Royal Canadian Mint, railway yards, packing industries, an oil refinery and an industrial park. It is a multicultural area with a large francophone community.

Services are provided in English and French

Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Service Area: St. Boniface, Winnipeg

Service Offerings: Access to federal, provincial, municipal programs; bilingual centre.

Client Profile: seniors, youth, professionals, francophones.

The Government of Canada section in the Bilingual Service Centre is a Service Canada Centre providing assistance to Canadians with information on over 1,000 federal programs and services.

The public can access five computers (Internet access to servicecanada.gc.ca and for word processing) and receive individual assistance from staff. The public can access telephones for their own contact with 1 800 O-Canada and local numbers or receive assistance from staff.

Other services available at this location:

  • A wide variety of application forms (e.g., SIN, passport, citizenship, business number, child tax benefit, disability tax credit)
  • Access to Government of Manitoba and City of Winnipeg information services
  • Publications on topics such as travel, consumer issues, the environment, health, human rights, senior's issues, government benefits, and teacher resources.
