  • The new Hazard Prevention Program Regulations, forming Part XIX of the Canada Occupational Health and Safety (COHS) Regulations, came into force. The purpose of those regulations is to prevent accidents and injury to health arising out of, linked with, or occurring in the course of employment in the federal jurisdiction.

  • The Workplace Information Directorate, Labour Program publishes the Workplace Bulletin on-line

    It includes such updated topics as negotiated wage data, benefits, working conditions, work stoppages, labour organizations, union membership, innovative workplace practices, labour standards, occupational safety and health, labour management partnerships, employment equity and international and intergovernmental labour affairs.

    Published twice a month, the information consists of ongoing developments and provides access to timely customized information on industrial relations and collective bargaining in Canada.

  • New Grants and Contributions Program: HRSDC's Labour Branch is now accepting applications for grants and contributions under its International Trade and Labour Program (ITLP). Proposals for labour capacity-building projects in the Americas and for social dialogue projects in Canada will be considered.
