List
of Uses of the Social Insurance Number (SIN) |
On July 15, 2002, the Secretary of the Treasury Board,
Mr. Jim Judd, wrote to all deputy ministers and heads of agencies,
asking for a complete list of all uses of the Social Insurance Number (SIN)
by each institution.
The Secretary requested that a response be provided to him no later
than September 30, 2002. I
am aware that not all institutions involved the ATIP office in the collection
of the list of SIN uses. However, my
office would appreciate your assistance in expediting your organization's
response at this time.
If your institution has not yet responded to Mr. Judd's letter,
please provide a response no later than October 16, 2002. If your organization has already provided
a response, there is no need to respond to this Information Notice or to call
our office.
Any responses that are forthcoming should be mailed to the following
address:
