ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Completion, by December 31, 2006, of ONE of the following qualifications:
    • Doctorate degree in any area of study
    • Master's degree in any area of study
    • Bachelor degree in law complemented by an undergraduate degree in any discipline
  • Various language requirements
  • Applicants must have received a graduate level scholarship or a graduate level distinction; examples include the Trudeau, Rhodes, Fulbright, Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), Natural Sciences and Engineering Council of Canada (NSERC) scholarships, and Governor General’s Gold Medal
  • Applicants must have acquired diverse policy-relevant experience through their academic degree (undergraduate, graduate or post-graduate), and/or work experience. Policy-relevant experience could be acquired through:
    • Work or volunteer activities in the area of economic, social, environmental or strategic analysis; or
    • Analyses for program development and implementation in organizations such as non-government organizations, voluntary organizations, governments, businesses, consulting firms, think tanks, and public service; or
    • Contributions towards the publication of articles or public presentations on public policy-relevant topics.
  • Applicants must have participated in multiple extra-curricular activities (e.g. student government, volunteering, public service) or have been involved in extra-curricular activities in which they have either taken a leadership role or made a significant contribution.
  • Preference will be given to Canadian Citizens
