Description

A collection of graphics showing: (1) Landed weight and value from all fisheries by province and territory for the period 1959 to 1963 as well as landed weight, landed value and final market value for Canada, Atlantic, Pacific and inland fisheries for the period 1956 to 1970; (2) Landed weight by selected species for the period 1915 to 1970; (3) Average annual per capita domestic consumption of food by food type for the period 1961 to 1968; (4) Employment in primary fisheries operations; (5) Fish processing statistics for the period 1956 to 1970; and (6) Imports and exports of fish and fish products for the period 1952 to 1970. A small map shows the location of marine mammal resources by species. Also included on this plate are two maps of the Pacific fisheries showing the average annual production, for the period 1959 to 1963, for mollusks, crustaceans and ground fish as well as pelagic and estuarial fish. Each map is accompanied by a supplementary text providing the landings and final market value for each species. National Atlas of Canada, 4th Edition (1974).
