Canada Feature Film Fund 2005-06
Quebec Office Selects Seven Features for Funding

March 29, 2005 - Telefilm Canada is pleased to announce its first investment decisions for fiscal 2005﷓06 under the selective component of the Canada Feature Film Fund.

The Quebec office received 32 French-language and nine English-language submissions for the January 17, 2005, application deadline. Of these, seven very promising projects have been selected for support: six in French, and one in English that will be funded through the regional envelope earmarked for English-language projects requesting less than $1 million.

“We received so many excellent projects that more than half of the funding available for the year has been committed,” said Michel Pradier, Director of French-language Operations and the Quebec Office at Telefilm Canada. “The number of submissions was far beyond what we expected, clearly demonstrating the industry’s creative vitality.”

In view of this situation, the October application deadline for projects in French has been cancelled.
