Canadian Fertilizer Consumption, Shipments and Trade

With increased interest in environmental matters and improved farm management, there is a continuing need for more information on the distribution and consumption of fertilizer in Canada. These papers present the most current statistics available, describing the sources and identifying possible discrepancies. As well as presenting data on the quantities of fertilizers sold in Canada, these publications present fertilizer farm expenditure data and the fertilizer price index.

Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada does not conduct any surveys with respect to fertilizer sales of its own and therefore cannot assume responsibility for the actual figures themselves. Those contributing to this paper, however, do represent the most reliable sources currently available. Any questions concerning individual tables should be addressed to the organization or government agency responsible.

These reports are distributed as working papers for those interested in Canadian agriculture. The findings and views do not necessarily represent the position of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.
