| Purpose |
Targeted Wage Subsidies provides employers with a temporary wage subsidy as an incentive to hire eligible participants who are having difficulty finding work. Participants must be hired in positions that are part of the normal business operations of employers.
Please read the eligibility requirements (see Important Information). If you are interested, complete the form Application for Funding and discuss it with your local Service Canada Centre which will answer your questions and determine if your project can be supported.
Note: The EMP 5253 Form is not an AGREEMENT, but only an application. Employers cannot hire or start the participants before they:
- Submit this application to the nearest Service Canada Centre;
- Service Canada must assess and approve of the application;
- Obtain a signed agreement with Service Canada.
