Electronic Supply Chain (ESC) Program
The Electronic Supply Chain (ESC) Program is an initiative to provide an effective and efficient framework for the electronic procurement and purchasing of goods and services for the Government of Canada. The ESC Program respects federal legislation, policy and operational imperatives and reinforces the government's vision to develop Canada as a world leader in electronic commerce.
The ESC Program encompasses the complete life cycle of procurement activities from initial selection of the required goods or services through ordering and receipt to final settlement. The ESC will eventually extend to include electronic contracts and supplier management, electronic bidding and bid receiving, acquisition card purchases and electronic payment. The completion of this end-to-end ESC service is planned for 2005.
