The Audit and Ethics Branch is an internal function
that provides departmental Senior Management with independent
and objective advice on management controls and frameworks.
Its role is to provide support to PWGSC in achieving
its integrity objectives.
It is responsible for the development and leadership
for the Department's Ethics program, delivery of internal
audits and reviews, program evaluations, fraud investigations,
and is the central point for internal disclosure for
workplace wrongdoing. In addition, AEB is responsible
for liaising with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police
as well as the Office of the Auditor General. The head
of the Branch serves as the departmental Senior Ethics
Counsellor as well as the Senior Officer of Internal
Disclosure of Wrongdoing.

10 Point Integrity Plan
To integrate values and ethics within the department,
the Branch will be leading the activities on the 10
point integrity plan to rebuild confidence in PWGSC.
Among the actions being taken is the building of a robust
infrastructure in assigning Ethics Officers to every
Branch and Region.
