The Canadian Polar Information Network (CPIN) simply makes polar
data and information from across the country and around the world more easily
and usefully available to the Canadian Public.
The (CPIN) is maintained by the Canadian Polar Commission as the
Canadian source harnessing this wealth of polar information and data. Additionally,
the CPIN offers several other valuable services to promote polar research and
knowledge, including:
- Polar
Science Forum
A web-based research collaboration tool designed to help people work together
more effectively by simplifying information sharing and communications. It combines
the best aspects of e-mail, Internet and the World Wide Web to provide an efficient
way to package, organize, share and track information about polar research;
- Researcher's Directory
A searchable database providing access to thousands of arctic researchers. The
directory contains names, addresses, science specialties, and current research
of individual Arctic researchers;
- International Partners
A links to international organizations with which the Canadian Polar Commission
co-operates in providing polar information and research services; and
- Researcher's Toolbox
