Through their research and entrepreneurship, the Networks of Centres of Excellence work to
deliver economic and social benefits to Canadians. Some contribute in ways that affect people
immediately — in medicine and education, for example. Others team with industry to bring new
products and processes to the marketplace. Some are closely allied to government, while others
are committed to basic research. But all, either directly or indirectly, have the potential to
improve the lives of Canadians.
