News Release - Alberta

Theft investigation results in charge of theft over $ 5000

Lac La Biche, Alberta 2006 JAN 26

An investigation that originated May 10, 2005 results in a charge of theft over $ 5000.00 over allegations of missing fuel.

Lac La BICHE RCMP with assistance from RCMP St. Paul General Investigation Section investigated allegations of approximately 12,500 liters of missing fuel form a bulk station located just west of Lac La Biche. Investigators obtained reasonable and probable grounds to believe a single charge of theft over $5000 was warranted. On January 24, 2006 Tom Lett of Lac La Biche was charged and released to appear in Lac La Biche Provincial Court on March 06, 2006 at 10:00 am.

While investigators are not able to openly discuss details of the investigation they are able to advise the allegation does not appear to have any connection with Lett’s elected capacity.
