Careers and Recruiting

Recruiting Collage

The RCMP is actively recruiting
in your community !

Are you interested in a career with the RCMP ?

This web page will provide you with recruiting information for Alberta.

For detailed information on the recruiting process and the requirements for both regular members (police officers) and civilian members please visit the RCMP National Recruiting Website.

The Regular Member (police officer) recruiting process identifies suitable candidates to attend our Training Academy, Depot Division in Regina, Saskatchewan. Successful applicants will be tasked with safeguarding Canadian communities in a professional and upstanding manner. To ensure that the right people are selected for these responsibilities our selection process is very thorough and extensive. Part of our process includes detailed checks into an applicant’s background, honesty, integrity and suitability for police work. As a great deal of care goes into the selection of RCMP Cadets, the process can be rather long. Highly motivated and dedicated applicants will be able to complete all levels of the selection process.

Civilian Members are non-police officer personnel that the RCMP hires for specialized scientific, technological, communications and administrative skills.

The RCMP is committed to promoting equity when dealing with applicants in compliance with the Employment Equity Act. All applicants are considered and chances of being selected vary according to each individual’s quality and track record.
