CONTROLLED GOODS DIRECTORATE (CGD)

CGD ensures compliance with the Defence Production Act (DPA) and the Controlled Goods Regulations (CGR). It ensures that every "person" in a position to examine, possess or transfer controlled goods is registered or exempted from registration under the CGD, conducts inspections to assess compliance and initiates prosecutions of any person who contravenes any provision of CGR as per Part 3 of the DPA. It conducts inspections for CIISD and ensures the application of the recommended remedial action deemed necessary.
