CLASSIFICATION OF INSTITUTIONS

Why was the policy changed?

To update information in relation to institutions under CSC's administration.

What has changed?

Annex A, which contains the names and security classifications of CSC's institutions, has been updated:

• Fraser Valley Institution has been added to the list under the Pacific region and the name of the Kwìkwèxwelhp Healing Lodge has been changed;
• Willow Cree Healing Lodge has been added to the list under the Prairie region;
• under the Atlantic region heading, the Carlton Annex CCC has been added and the name of the St. John's CCC has been changed;
• the list of institutions under each regional heading has been placed in alphabetical order for ease of reference.

How was it developed?

The revision was completed in consultation with the Pacific, Prairies and Atlantic regions, the Women Offender and Correctional Operations and Programs sectors, Legal Services and the Policy division.

Accountabilities?

The Institutional Head has overall responsibility for the management of the institution.
