What is new/changed?

Amendments have been incorporated to the following five paragraphs of Guidelines 335 - Fleet Management:

  • paragraph 9.6 - inmates operating vehicles on public roads;
  • paragraph 10.2 - credit card loyalty programs;
  • paragraph 11.2 - disposal auctions;
  • paragraph 11.3 - disposal timeframe; and
  • paragraph 3.1 of Annex B - Federal Identity Program.

Why was the policy changed?

The policy amendments are being made to broaden the scope and clarify points in GL 335 to better meet the operational requirements of CSC daily operations.

How was it developed?

These amendments were developed based on responses received through the Management Control Framework and in consultation with the Policy Branch of the Corporate Development Sector, Legal Services, CORCAN and Security.

Accountability?

Institutional Heads must ensure that good risk management practices are adhered to if inmates are to operate motor vehicles.

Who will be affected by the policy?

Institutional staff and inmates who operate CSC motor vehicles.

Expected cost?

No costs anticipated.
