Abstract: This 54 minute video serves as a training guide, which will be of interest to environmental professionals, workers involved in shoreline protection and spill clean-up as well as students. Three key topic areas are highlighted to help increase knowledge, speed-up the spill response time, and make the clean-up operation more effective. They are:
  1. Shoreline types and petroleum persistence;
  2. Methods of shoreline protection; and
  3. Clean-up of shorelines upon which petroleum has become stranded.
This video is designed to assist in the prevention of further Great Lakes degradation from spills of oil, while providing a plan of action in case of such an event.
