The Currency Museum of the Bank of Canada presents the most important collection of Canadian notes, coins and tokens in the world, as well as currency from other countries. In this collection, you will find a wide variety of artifacts used for exchange, such as a Yap stone weighing over three tons.

In its many forms, currency continues to play an important role in the daily lives of people around the world. Exploring the diverse means of exchange throughout time and across continents provides insight into cultural values, history and geography.

Directions

Facing Parliament Hill, turn left on Wellington Street. Walk two blocks west to Bank Street. The Museum is located inside the Bank of Canada Building on the corner of Bank and Wellington streets.
