Search and Rescue (SAR)

At the Coast Guard College we offer Maritime Search and Rescue courses using the most up-to date research and equipment. As well as offering top-notch training courses, our high-calibre and experienced staff can look after all your SAR system requirements including:

  • Analysing, developing and delivering custom-tailored SAR training for clients on-site or at the College
  • Research and development project management
  • SAR System Analysis
  • Technical and software support for the Canadian Search and Rescue Planning Program (CANSARP)

SAR Courses include the following:  E-English; F-French

  • Maritime Search Planning Course (MSP)

This course is 10 days in duration.

  • March 31 - April 11, 2003 (E)
  • September 8 - 19, 2003 (F) cancelled.
  • SAR Mobile Facilities/On-Scene Co-ordinator Course

This course is 13 days in duration.  First Monday and Last Friday are considered travel days.

    • November 17 - December 5, 2003 (E)
    • January 12 - 30, 2004 (F)
    • February 9 - 27, 2004 (E)

 

  • Search and Rescue Mission Co-ordinator Course (SMC)

This course is 15 days in duration.

    • May 12 - 30, 2003 (E)
    • September 22 - October 10, 2003 (E)

 

  • Department of National Defence Search Master Course (DND SM)
    • May 5 - 10, 2003 (E)

 

  • Small Vessel Command Course (SVCC)

This course is 39.5 days in duration.  The course starts on Monday morning and ends on the last Friday at 1200.
