Ethanol Expansion Program (EEP)

The EEP is contributing to the expansion of fuel ethanol production and use in Canada and the reduction of transportation-related greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions that contribute to climate change. The program supports the Government of Canada's target of increasing the proportion of our gasoline that is blended with ethanol, a renewable fuel, from approximately 7 percent today to 35 percent by 2010. The EEP was announced on August 12, 2003, as part of Canada's climate change plan.

The EEP is providing contributions toward the construction financing of new or expansion fuel ethanol production facilities in Canada.
