Mr. Bains is well known and respected in the Greater Victoria community; he speaks four languages and volunteers with the India/Canada Cultural Association of Victoria and the Sikh Temple in Victoria.

She has been advocating for the NWT and Fort Smith for more than 30 years and was a member of the former Aboriginal Economic Development National Board. Ms. Martselos has served as Vice Chairperson of the Fort Smith Health Board of Directors, a Director of the Board of Governors for Aurora College, a Director of Uncle Gabe’s Friendship Center, President of the Fort Smith Chamber of Commerce, a Director of the NWT Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Business Credit Corporation of the NWT, and is currently Chairperson of the Save the Cathedral Committee.

Mr. Yamashita has a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the University of Manitoba, is a Fellow of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, and is a Certified Facilities Manager. He is a member of several provincial associations of architects and is a member and current chair of the Partners Program Advisory Board in the University of Manitoba’s Faculty of Architecture. Mr. Yamashita has been very involved in boards and committees within the architecture and facilities management fields, and has lectured and published extensively.
