Fishing in Gatineau ParkAre you one of those people who delight in the silence and tranquility of a lake while keeping your eyes and ears attuned for that perfect fishing spot?

The Park’s waters are home to 40 species of fish, reflecting the diversity of the lakes. These include sport-fishing varieties such as trout, yellow perch, pike and bass.

Please note that bass is the most abundant species of fish in the Park.

Gatineau Park is a part of Quebec’s Fishing Zone 10 and is administered by la Société de la faune et des parcs du Québec. A fishing permit must be obtained from the Ministry.

Vehicle access fees of $8 are in effect at certain lakes.

*Domestic animals are not permitted near bodies of water surrounded by NCC land.

Boats and motors:

combustion engines are prohibited, except at La Pêche Lake (maximum 10 hp); electric motors are permitted.

Just imagine the sound of gently running water as your paddle lifts. Your canoe cuts silently through the water, gliding lightly over the lake’s shimmering surface. The haunting call of a loon drifts across the water.

Come to the Park and commune with nature on a canoe trip on one of the following three lakes:

  • Meech Lake — McCloskey Boat Launch
  • Philippe Lake — boat launch and rental
  • La Pêche Lake — boat launch and rental

Vehicle access fees of $8 are in effect.
