CKXR-FM Salmon Arm – Technical change
|
1. |
The Commission approves
the application by Standard Radio Inc. (Standard) to amend the broadcasting
licence for the radio programming undertaking CKXR-FM Salmon Arm,
authorized in CKXR Salmon Arm – Conversion to FM band, Broadcasting
Decision CRTC 2005-77, 25 February
2005, in order to change the frequency from 99.7 MHz (channel
259B) to 91.5 MHz (channel 218B). |
2. |
The Commission did not receive
any interventions in connection with this application. |
3. |
The licensee stated that the
proposed change will resolve the interference problem of its signal in
the areas south of Salmon Arm near Kelowna, such as Enderby, with that
of CHSU-FM Kelowna, which is owned by Standard and which operates at
99.9 MHz. |
4. |
The Commission notes that the
station’s authorized contours will not be affected by this change. |
5. |
The Commission reminds the licensee that,
pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, this authority
will only be effective when the Department of Industry notifies the
Commission that its technical requirements have been met, and that a
broadcasting certificate will be issued. |
