Ottawa, 27 October 2005

Further to its Broadcasting Notices of Public Hearing CRTC 2005-8, 2005-8-1 , 2005-8-2  and 2005-8-3, dated 15, 23 and 29 September 2005 and 7 October 2005, relating to a Public Hearing which will be held on 14 November 2005 at 9:30 a.m., at the Holiday Inn Select Québec, 395 Couronne Street, Québec, Quebec the Commission announces the following:
On 14 October 2005, 6087329 Canada Inc., a company controlled by Patrice Demers, entered into an agreement with Radio Nord Communications inc. regarding the sale of radio programming undertaking CKNU-FM Donnacona, owned by 6087329 Canada Inc. Since this agreement affects the Commission’s consideration of the applications filed by 6087329 Canada Inc., in particular the application for renewal and the application to change the technical parameters of CKNU-FM (the CKNU applications), the Commission considers that these applications should be considered at a public hearing at a later date.
Furthermore, as the Commission has stated that the CKNU applications could, if approved, result in the station serving the Québec market, the Commission considers that competitive applications for the Québec market should be considered at the same public hearing at which it considers the CKNU applications.
In light of these considerations, the Commission has decided to postpone the hearing of the following applications to a subsequent public hearing which will be announced at a later date.
