The Commission has received
the following application. The deadline for submission of interventions/comments
is 14 December 2005. |

Application by Le Réseau des
sports (RDS) inc. to amend the licence of the national
Category 1 specialty programming undertaking known as Réseau Info Sports
(RIS). |
|
RIS is currently authorized to
broadcast sports programs drawn from program category 6(a) (professional
sports) and 6(b) (amateur sports), subject to the following conditions
of licence: |
|
1(d) No more than 15% of all programming broadcast during each
broadcast week shall be devoted to the live broadcast of sporting
events.
|
|
1(e) The broadcast of live sporting events shall be limited to
events that are not covered live by other conventional or specialty
French-language television services.
|
|
1(f) The licensee shall limit the broadcast of sporting events to
week-ends (Saturdays and Sundays).
|
|
1(g) The licensee shall interrupt its live coverage of sporting
events every 15 minutes to present sports highlights and results, as
well as sports news, through the insertion of audio and video
components.
|
|
The licensee proposes to
withdraw condition of licence 1(f). |
|
RDS stated that RIS will
continue to comply with all remaining conditions of licence in respect
to the broadcast of sports events. |

applicant and proof that this has been done must accompany the
intervention sent to the Commission. |

The Commission advises those

to establish that service has occurred. |

Before initiating service
through electronic mode, please ensure that you will be able to satisfy
the Commission, upon request, that service of the notification was
completed. |

Where the intervention is filed

following the last paragraph of the document, as an indication that the
document has not been damaged during electronic transmission. |
