1. |
Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
Application No. 2005-0567-0 |
|
Application by the Canadian
Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) to amend the licence of radio
programming undertaking CBK Regina. |
|
The licensee proposes to add an
FM transmitter at Saskatoon to broadcast the programming of CBK in order
to improve service to the populations of Saskatoon, Warman, Dalmeny,
Martensville, Cory, Clavet, Vanscoy and Dundurn Camp. |
|
The CBC cites urban growth, the
construction of high-rise concrete and steel buildings, increased
electrical noise from overhead wires, large and small appliances and
portable radio transmitters as impeding the ability of its current AM
transmitters delivery of reliable and high quality signals. These
factors necessitate the use of a drop-in FM transmitter. |
|
The transmitter would operate
on frequency 94.1 MHz (channel 231A) with an effective radiated power of
4,100 watts (non-directional antenna/antenna height of 68.2 metres). |
