Official UNFCCC COP 11 and COP/MOP 1 Sessions and Other Activities

The eleventh session of the Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the first session of the Conference of the Parties link to the official UN Climate Change Conference websiteserving as the meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol will take between November 28 and December 9, 2005 in Montréal, Canada. The twenty-third session of the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI) and the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA) will also take place.

In addition to the official schedule of meetings, a series of two-hour side events are organized from 13:00-15:00 and from 18:00-20:00 each day. These side events are hosted by Parties, observer States, UN bodies and admitted observer organizations. Side events take place in the Palais des Congrès, the conference venue.

The meetings of the COP, COP/MOP and SBs as well as a selection of side events are open to all participants and accredited media. All official meetings and some side events are webcast over the UNFCCC website. Visit the UNFCCC calendar of events for complete information regarding specific UNFCCC-sponsored events.

The secretariat of the Climate Change Convention and the Government of Canada are coordinating their web sites for Montréal 2005. Together, this effort will provide a comprehensive collection of information and web services for conference participants and the public.
