Teachers’ Corner - Experiencing Montréal 2005

10 days of climate change discovery!

Climate change is the most pressing environmental issue in the world today. And the world is paying attention. The United Nations Conference on Climate Change is bringing together 189 countries in Montréal to coordinate global efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. We all have a role to play in meeting this challenge and we must raise the awareness of the new generation to the significance of climate change.  Teachers are therefore key players in the future of global action on climate change.

We have prepared pedagogical resources that are ready for use in class and that will assist in raising awareness and understanding of the issues related to climate change and enrich the learning experience of your pupils in this regard.

Educational Programme: Discovery Visits

An exhibit entitled A World of Discovery will be in place throughout the 10 days of the United Nations Conference on Climate Change. Located in Complexe Guy-Favreau, next door to the UN Conference, a full two days of this interesting and informative exhibit have been set aside exclusively for school visits by students at the secondary and late primary levels.

This is a unique opportunity for pupils to demystify the issues related to climate change, in Canada and around the world. This experience will enhance their awareness of the existing solutions for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and the steps everyone can take in everyday life.

Duration: 90 minutes
Maximum Group Capacity: 30 people
Cost: Free. Reservation required.
Visitation Hours: Between 10:00 and 20:00

Please ensure that you have at least one adult per 10 pupils to ensure a pleasant visit for everyone.
