Canadian Species List:
This list contains Canadian CITES Species only, including the different animal populations and plant varieties.
Status as designated by the Committee on the Status of Endangered Wildlife in Canada (COSEWIC) is also provided for each species, subspecies and populations that have been evaluated to date.
Canadian Checklist:
The checklist is the list of names (scientific and common) in the CITES species database of the Canadian Wildlife Service.
Each of the entries consists of a scientific name (latin) and/or an English and French common name, the CITES Appendix, the taxonomic group, followed by the symbol @ and a number referencing the location of the entry in the Control List. For example:
Acipenser oxyrhynchus§ : II, Atlantic sturgeon, Esturgeon noir (de l'Atlantique) > (Fish) @6.1.0.(1)
