Greenhouse Gases and Aerosols

decorative image

The Air Quality Research Branch contributes to the understanding of greenhouse gases (and their isotopes) and aerosols as they relate to climate change. Increases in the concentrations (mixing ratios) of these gases and aerosols in the atmosphere alter the distribution of energy in the earth-atmosphere system. These changes impact on the overall climate system.
