Environmental Learning and Sustainability in Canada

Related Documents

On this page you will find links to the major national and international documents on environmental learning and sustainability, as well as links to organizations in Canada and abroad that are undertaking environmental learning initiatives.

You will notice that these papers reflect different points of view on how educators think about environmental issues and sustainability. Some educators and organizations wish to support sustainable development as an ethic; others prefer a more community-based approach; still others favour a more ecologically-centred path to include movements like deep ecology and social justice.

Whatever their approach, each of their views comes with a unique language and terminology, which includes the ultimate goal of most environmental educators: to develop an ecologically literate and competent society through lifelong learning.
