Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Why hasn't the weather information been updated since…?

In most cases, an old weather page is in the browser's local cache and that's what's being displayed on your computer. If the cache is cleared and the browser actually requests the page from our server, the new forecast will appear.

Weather information is automatically updated on our server. Forecasts are issued every six hours and appear shortly thereafter. The current conditions are observed hourly and the current conditions/forecast page for a city is generated on-the-fly when requested.

  2. Where do I find radar information?

Please see the King Weather Radar Home Page. This site does not include links to any real time radar images. For information on purchasing images, visit AEP Commercial Site.

For further information on Doppler radar in general, please see the National Radar Project.

  3. Where do I find aviation weather information?

Aviation weather and many other specialized services are available on a cost recovery basis. In Ontario, please contact Ron Huibers at ron.huibers@ec.gc.ca or 416-739-4578 for more information.

  4. Where do I find climate information?

For climate information, please see the Canadian Meteorological Centre's Canadian Climate and Water Information and Data Site. Specialized services are available on a cost recovery basis. All climate inquiries should be directed to 1-900-565-1111. For those unable to use 1-900 numbers, fax 416-739-4521.

  5. Where do I find information about careers in meteorology?

It's easy! Please see our new Careers in Meteorology web site.
