Wind Chill Program

MSC - EC - GC

Educational Documents

This page allows you to download and consult our educational documents on wind chill, using files in PDF (Adobe Acrobat) format.

Note: New results regarding how long one can be exposed to cold before frostbite occurs have been published in late 2003. These results are displayed in the Charts and Tables available on this site. The documents below do not yet reflect these new results.

  • Our wall poster (about 175 kilobytes). It indicates the different ranges of wind chill values, along with the precautions to take in each. It also gives a useful chart that allows you to determine the value of wind chill for various combinations of winds and temperatures. Also available in a lower-resolution version (about 105 kilobytes).

  • Our main fact sheet (about 1.2 megabytes). This is the paper version of most of the documents that can be found on this site in the sections titled Fact Sheet and Charts and Tables. Also availiable in a lower-resolution version (about 745 kilobytes).

  • Our wallet-size card (about 200 kilobytes). For quick reference. Also availiable in a lower-resolution version (about 85 kilobytes).

Note : To correctly see - and therefore print - the above documents, you will need the Adobe Acrobat Reader, Version 5 (or higher) preferably. This reader is offered free of charge and can be downloaded from this page on Adobe Corporation's Web site.
