About Us

Departmental Organization

The department is divided organizationally into five headquarters services and five integrated regions. Environment Canada's organizations crosscut business lines in a matrix or interconnected management approach. This allows the Environment program to be defined in a national context, while being delivered in a client-centered manner that takes into account regional differences.

Environment Canada's Management Framework, developed in 1998, describes the structure used to plan, allocate resources and measure performance against objectives.
