MINISTER PETERSON TO MEET WITH NAFTA COUNTERPART
FERNANDO CANALES
International Trade Minister Jim Peterson will hold a bilateral meeting with Mexican
Minister of the Economy Secretary Fernando Canales Clariond on October 25.
Secretary Canales will be in Canada as part of the Canada-Mexico Retreat, an event
bringing together key decision makers from both countries.
Minister Peterson and Member of Parliament for Ottawa West–Nepean
Marlene Catterall will also host a site visit of Canada’s Nortel Networks with
Secretary Canales during the afternoon of October 25. This visit is a result of Nortel’s
successes in Mexico. Photographs of the visit will be made available to the media.
