MINISTER PETTIGREW PRESENTS EXPORTER OF THE YEAR AWARD

MINISTER PETTIGREW PRESENTS EXPORTER OF THE YEAR AWARD
International Trade Minister Pierre Pettigrew presented the prestigious Exporter of the Year Award this evening to ZENON
Environmental Inc. of Oakville, Ontario. In addition to the highest award in exporting, ZENON Environmental, along with
nine other companies, received a 2002 Canada Export Award at a ceremony organized in Vancouver by Canadian
Manufacturers and Exporters.
"I am very pleased to present the Exporter of the Year Award to ZENON Environmental," said Mr. Pettigrew."With the
water treatment methods it exports throughout the world, ZENON is ensuring the quality of our water, which is essential to
our survival. Companies like ZENON are an excellent example of Canada's creativity and innovation on the international
scene."
ZENON Environmental is recognized for its chemical-free water treatment methods that improve the safety and quality of
water. Over the past three years, the company has penetrated new markets in Asia, Australia and Eastern Europe,
establishing thousands of installations in over 30 countries, while helping to safeguard the world's water supply.
The Canada Export Awards were established in 1983 by the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade to
showcase the achievements and successes of Canadian companies that export their products and services to markets around
the world.
The 2002 Canada Export Awards were presented by the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade in
cooperation with the following sponsors: Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters, Export Development Canada, RBC
Financial Group, the National Post, Sun Life Financial, Western Economic Diversification Canada, and the Vancouver Port
Authority.
