This is the first phase of Project Green: a national project to create a healthier environment and a stronger economy by combining the efforts of governments, aboriginal peoples, non-governmental organizations, businesses and all Canadians to build a more sustainable future. The Kyoto commitment for Canada is one of the greatest and most ambitious in the world. The challenge has been, not just to honour our Kyoto commitment, but to do so in a manner that supports a sustainable environment and a productive economy. Moving Forward on Climate Change builds on the new measures set out in Budget 2005 including the creation of the Climate Fund ? that will help Canada continue its march towards an environmentally sustainable economy.
