The Wastewater Technology Centre (WTC) is an integrated, proactive research, development and demonstration facility dedicated to advancing technological solutions to environmental challenges. The WTC develops and assesses novel wastewater technologies and advances the MAP™ family of technologies and other technologies that offer high potential for reducing waste and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. In addition, the Centre provides analytical support to selected EC programs, such as one on endocrine-disrupting substances and the Ontario Region's enforcement program. It also provides technical support for developing protocols associated with substances added to the Priority Substances List and methods in support of WTC programs. Furthermore, the WTC provides outreach such as intellectual property management and transferring technology and protocol development for technology verification programs.
