Foreign Affairs Canada(FAC)
coordinated, and led on the consular and political fronts.
The Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA)
worked with aid groups to provide humanitarian aid and to plan reconstruction. A
program
to match some $200 million in private donations was undertaken.
The Department of National Defence (DND)
sent the DART team to Sri Lanka. Overall, Canada committed $425 million in support. ...
