Film Production

  • Stand Up for Canada, eh!
"Canada offers tax incentives for those productions that use Canadian talent — on-screen and behind the scenes. We do so because we think it is important that Canadian talent get an opportunity to play on a bigger stage. These incentives are available to all who meet the obligations — whether the production is sourced frm Hollywood, Bollywood, Hong Kong, Europe or Canada." — Canadian Consul General Colin Robertson, in a speech to the 2002 International Film and Television Financing Summit, Santa Monica, CA, June 5, 2002
  • Canada - U. S. Trade in Film Production Services
In 2000, 581 feature film projects were produces in the Los Angeles area, while only 42 films developed in the United States were shot in Canada. Typically, 60% of the budget for U.S.-developed films produced in Canada is spent in the United States.
