The black and white photograph is courtesy of the Glenbow Museum located in Calgary, Alberta (Glenbow Archives ND-8-402). The photograph was taken July 29, 1929 by W.J. Oliver beside an oil well derrick a few miles east of Morley Agency buildings in Alberta. It shows Stoneys receiving payment for oil lease rights on their reserve.
