December 9, 2002 - The new agreement establishes a bi-national Planning Group to develop coordinated Canada-US contingency planning to respond to possible crisis scenarios, including potential terrorist attacks and natural disasters within North America. It will coordinate maritime surveillance and intelligence sharing, shared threat assessments, planning and exercises that will help to deter or respond to threats and crises. |
