Home Study in Canada / Canadian Studies
Canada is home to internationally recognized universities and colleges with high-tech facilities and safe campuses. Tuition and living expenses are very affordable, and Americans are eligible for U.S. government student loans at most Canadian universities. Most Canadian schools are closer than you might think. Visit our Study in Canada section for information about tuition rates, visa requirements, French language study, and links to Canadian universities and colleges. Over the past twenty-five years, the Canadian Government has helped foster the development of Canadian Studies in the U.S. We encourage and support teaching, research, conferences and program activities that further the knowledge and understanding of Canada in the United States. There are more than fifty Canadian Studies programs across the country and roughly 500 U.S. universities and colleges that offer courses on Canada. Visit the Canadian Studies section for information on our grant program, Canadian Studies in the U.S., and education tools. @ Canada is designed for teachers from across the U.S. who are interested in adding Canadian Content to their curriculum. It uses a variety of Internet resources to help American teachers and students, from levels K-12, learn more about their neighbors up north. It not only serves to instruct students about the Canadian way of life, but also helps to develop a keen sense of the value of comparative studies in the fields of social science. At this site, you will discover how history, culture, government, and international roles in a post-9/11 world have shaped and strengthened the relationship between our two nations. The Academic Relations Calendar provides up-to-date information on Canadian Studies events, publications, grant competitions, and conferences across the United States.
