Passport and Consular / Emergency Services for Canadians

In our shrinking world, many Canadians live in or visit other countries. Whether you are travelling for business or pleasure, the keys to a successful trip in all cases are preparation and awareness.

The Consular Affairs Bureau at Foreign Affairs Canada offers information, advice and services online to help you safely travel. You are encouraged to consult the regularly-updated online travel reports and advisories, as well as to familiarize yourself with the services provided by all Canadian missions, including emergency assistance.

INFORMATION FOR CANADIANS TRAVELLING TO THE UNITED STATES

The Canadian Embassy and Consulates General in the United States are committed to helping the thousands of Canadians who cross the border into the United States each day. Visit the website of the Canadian office where you will be travelling for complete information on their services.

It is important to be aware of regulations and conditions that may affect your journey. U.S.A. Bound Advice for Canadian Travellers: A Compendium of the Bumps on the Road for Canadians Going South will provide you with up-to-date information.

Some Canadians may be affected by the United States National Security Entry-Exit Registration System (NSEERS). For more information on NSEERS.

Canadian performing artists and members of entertainment groups can find information on their specific working situations in the publication Canadian Performers: How to Enter the United States.
