This eight-page booklet is published by the Government of Canada in 14 different languages and is distributed
through Canadian missions abroad and non-governmental organisations.
The booklet contains the following information for potential victims of trafficking in persons:
- An explanation of the phenomenon of trafficking in persons;
- A description of the tactics used by traffickers;
- The danger of falling prey to trafficking operations, especially through false or misleading job offers;
- The legal consequences in Canada for persons convicted of trafficking;
- The rights of individuals in Canada;
- The means to avoid becoming a victim; and
- Ways to seek help once in the grips of traffickers.
