Court of Appeal
The British Columbia Court of Appeal is the highest court in the province and hears appeals from the British Columbia Supreme Court and some criminal appeals from the Provincial Court, as well as appeals from administrative tribunals. Appeals from the Court of Appeal are heard by the Supreme Court of Canada.

Supreme Court
The British Columbia Supreme Court is the superior trial court for the province and hears both civil and criminal cases, as well as some appeals from the Provincial Court.

Provincial Court
The Provincial Court of British Columbia is the first level of
court in British Columbia and it hears criminal, family, child protection,
small claims (civil claims under $25,000), and traffic cases, as
well as criminal cases involving youth offenders.
