Step 4: Choose the appropriate federal table

There is a separate set of Federal Child Support Tables for each province and territory. The amounts vary due to slight differences in provincial and territorial tax rates. Select the Table that corresponds to the province or territory in which the paying parent resides.

If the paying parent resides outside of Canada, choose the table for the province or territory in which the receiving parent lives.

If you and the other parent live in the same province or territory, and that province or territory does not have its own guidelines, you may use the Federal Child Support Table for your province or territory to find the amount of child support.   Does your province or territory have its own guidelines?

The name of the province is printed in the top right-hand corner.
