The role of the Security branch in Prairie and Northern Region is to ensure
the security of the multi-modal transportation system, through the
development and implementation of:
- An inspection and enforcement program for compliance with
transportation security legislation;
- A program for the protection of Transport Canada assets and
essential services;
- An emergency, contingency planning and preparedness program to
ensure an effective response to emergency situations.
