Suzuki Canada Inc. Owner’s Manual – 2004 Swift+ and Verona

TP2436
Road Safety Leaflet
#  D2004-08 (E)

Suzuki Canada Inc. has determined that the text and graphics currently provided in certain owner’s manuals for the 2004 Swift+ and Verona insufficiently describe the routing of the tether strap in those vehicles fitted with the standard head restraint.

The owner’s manual supplied with the vehicle did not provide instructions on how to route the top tether strap of a forward-facing children’s restraint system with respect to the positioning of the head restraint in the vehicle.

To resolve this, Suzuki Canada Inc. has sent letters and instruction manual inserts to all owners of these vehicles. The insert describes how the tether strap of the children’s restraint system must be threaded between the head restraint and the vehicle seat back and then affixed to the tether anchorage. The tether strap is not to go over the head restraint.

If an insert has not been received, Transport Canada recommends that the owner of the vehicle contact Suzuki Canada Inc. to receive a copy of the new instructions.
